Pacific Educational Press author and Professor Emeritus, Linda Siegel, attended the IDA conference in San Diego where she held a book signing.
The International Dyslexia Association held it’s annual Reading, Literacy and Learning conference in San Diego, where members attended for three days of keynote presentations and workshops.
Linda Siegel, Professor Emeritus from the Department of Educational Counselling and Psychology, and Special Education, published Understanding Dyslexia and other Learning Disabilities with Pacific Educational Press in September 2013; and since then has been invited to speak at several dyslexia associations’ events.
The book itself addresses how our educational system has failed to identify many children with learning difficulties and calls for the adoption of straightforward diagnostic techniques so that treatment options. First-hand accounts of people living with learning disabilities, case studies from literature, and profiles of highly accomplished individuals who have achieved success despite their learning disabilities encourage people with learning challenges and those who support them to recognize and nurture each person’s special talents.
